Kitchen HappeningsMay 16, 2019
Firstly, I want to let you know that we have some changes ahead for Burger Madness. It will be moving to Tuesday nights and we will be adding Wing Wednesday on, you guessed it, Wednesday nights! Members – watch your email for more details. We hope this will give you another fun food option during the week!
Now, I would like to highlight a newer member of my staff, Steve Layton. Steve works the morning and lunch shift, prepares many of our soups, and like myself, has been a lifer in the food and restaurant business. His vast experience enables him to handle any of your needs should I not be here.
Steve hails from the Kent Island on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and has worked in many of the restaurants there such as The Silver Swan, Tavern on the Bay, and Hemmingway’s, amongst others. Here locally he has been the chef of Keystone Grill in Hyde Park and the Reef Top in Anderson which is above the Pelican’s Reef. He is married, has two children, and resides in Anderson.
I lived in Maryland myself for quite a while so we share a lot in common especially our love for fresh quality fish, seafoods, and the outdoors.
My plan for my June blog post is to go to my home and go on a tour of my bee yard and the inside of a hive. This is my fifth year as a bee keeper and I love it! I have nine hives going now and just began raising queens. I will definitely have pictures and I hope a link to a video. I hope you will find it interesting.
